MV Agusta Factory Underwater

Although you can book a factory tour with MV Agusta via their website , it is unlikely that anybody will be visiting the Lake Varese facility anytime soon. The recent storms that hit Italy have caused the waters of the lake to rise and flood the surrounding developments including several areas of the MV Agusta factory where research, development and race testing are conducted. The management was forced to send more than 100 workers home and the situation remains critical.

The cost of the damage has not yet been determined but the test stands and other sensitive equipment installed in the rooms nearest the water have been affected. Production has also been suspended due to the electrical hazards, and the possibility of further damage could increase depending on weather and the rising water level.
