Buttonwillow Feb 19th

I signed up for my first track day in about 4 years. I'm not sure how many sessions i will be able to do with my medical issues but I'm going to try. I have been wanting to get back out there.

Anyone else signed up for that day?

Thanks, me too. It's been nice lately but we'll see the closer it gets to that date.

I should be there with a few friends as well! We just got a 01 GSXR 750 track bike and are going to do our first track day with it on 2/19. Barring any work getting in the way, which is prone to happen for me, it will be my very first track day. I am pretty excited. Here is our beautiful track bike!

It has GSXR 1000 front forks with Ohlins internals, a penske rear shock, the gsxr 1000 front rotor and caliper, race plastics, and a stock motor but has a power commander. I'm pretty stoked to try it out.

Cool. What group did you sign up for? I will be there with a friend who will be doing his first track day. He's been dirt riding for years but just recently got into street riding.

I'm in C group also. Old and slow but still have fun trying. I have never been to BW before. Have done a lot of days on the big Willow Springs track but that was in the 90s. Last track day was at ACS.

Please expect the first couple sessions to be on a COLD Track. I mean, take a glove off and feel just how cold that surface is - it’s COLD. Sport and Track Tires just don’t adhere right on a cold surface - I’ve seen plenty of riders crash on the first two sessions due to cold tires. That’s with tire warmers...

Otherwise - HAVE FUN! Track days are awesome goodness and BW is a decent track.
