Great Parts Service

The clutch cable was beginning to break on my SRAD, BC Motorsports hooked me up with another cable fast and at a great price with good communication. Thanks Bill.

This is a good opportunity to ask all of you to do a quick clutch cable inspection before your next ride.

A few years ago, I was riding along and when I went to use my clutch, it felt strange and all of a sudden I needed more throw to actually get the clutch to disengage. When I got home and took a look, my clutch cable, which is a braided steel cable made of like 20 strands, had broken except for two little strands which were still holding on.

So yeah, take a look before the issue becomes urgent, especially if your clutch cable is many years old. Taking the cable end out of the lever is even better, as you can look at the bend point of the cable. That is wear most cables break, and an improperly adjusted clutch lever can hurry this process.
