Lake Arrowhead today with a buddy. The 18 is a great ride...even the 2 lane section was a blast.

I got my out to the garage and finally began "de-tracking" mine.
Remove tape. add back the mirrors, license plate, etc. Didn't ride. Have a bit of bronchitis. Coughing in the helmet kinda sucks. |

Do you guys ever have on and off days when you're out riding? As in, sometimes you feel a bit off.... and other days you feel on-point?
Was feeling kinda "meh" earlier today. I needed to get out, so I geared up and jumped on the 600RR and headed for Palos Verdes. The stars aligned or something... because to my surprise I was soon feeling very comfortable, familiar, confident on my 600RR which I haven't been riding. Traffic was fairly light, not a cop in sight, and I rode along the coast like it was the Isle of Man. Headed West, there's a section of road that has a long-right, uphill sweeper that straightens out for a bit, then goes downhill into a right-hander that then straightens out a bit, then tightens back up to the right. The awesome thing is that this section of road is about 1.25 mile and there's a light at each end. I've ridden it a few times before, but today I did probably 12-14 laps. So headed West, I get to work on my right-hand corners, and then my left when I turn around and head back. I had a friggin' great time and while I was headed home, I couldn't help but think that I really need to get myself out on the track one of these days. Unfortunately, I didn't snap and photos to share with everyone. But I am sure that we've all know the feeling of having a really good day of riding, and a smile on our face when we walk in the door smelling of exhaust. |

I rode up to San Diego today.
Met Miles. We passed on a Hwy 94 strafing run, and instead did his 50-mile cycle path on our motos. It included commentary on the areas we went through. A first-class tour of otherwise overlooked places in San Diego. I got home afterwards, and went out for Palella. A local winery in San Antonio Las Minas features it here every Saturday afternoon!! |
