Photographer on Highland Valley Road/San Diego

Does anyone know who is photographing riders on Highland Valley Road? He had a pickup and was there 9/24 about 8:30 am.

Ha, oh the comedians

I saw him again on Sat and still have no idea. If I was smarter, I'd stop and ask, but I was busy riding

Photographic Evidence

BMW Club received an email from "Jackie Olson." She notes that they have been getting photographic evidence of traffic violations and have requested info from DMV via FOI statutes.

To: The Board of BMW Owners Club of San Diego
From: Residents of properties along Highland Valley Rd

I am a property owner along Highland Valley Rd, and have been asked by several other property owners to write to your motorcycle group representing us, the property owners along Highland Valley Rd.

For many years your motorcycle group, along with many others, have been riding on Highland Valley Rd, most particularly on weekends. We want your group to enjoy the road that we live on, but we want you to do it safely, just as we want to traverse on the road safely as well. Over the past 18 - 24 months, we've noticed many more members of your group riding illegally on our road --- speeding, and passing in no-passing zones especially.

We are aware of the most frequent violators of the laws on our road, as we filed a freedom of information act to obtain the registered owners of several of the license plate numbers that we commonly see.

We have been in communication with the San Diego Police department, and the San Diego Sheriff Department, both who have jurisdication of our roadway. With photographic evidence, which we have, the law enforcement agencies have told us that we are encouraged to file citizens arrest complaints against each of the violators. We do not want to do this, instead we simply want you to respect our roadway as if YOU were the ones that owned properties along it. We do not want to be passed illegally, and speaking for myself, I get scared each time one of your group members passes illegally in a spot with limited visibility and ends up face to face with oncoming traffic.

Please distribute this note amongst your membership, and let them know that while we welcome their presence, we want them to be present in a legal manner. Our road is not a raceway. Our loved ones, many which are children, live and play along our road. Please do your part to keep them and yourself safe. Should the illegal behavior continue, we do intend to prosecute as far as the law will permit us to.

Sincerely,

Jackqueline Olson

Well, well. these fine people want everything down their beloved road all legal eh? I suppose they never break any driving laws right? Never run stop signs, never speed on other roadways right?? Never cut any body off like motorcycles, never right?? Nope I won't never believe that!! How would they like someone getting pics of them breaking the law? This is sad man sad. Hypocrites are the worst. saying don't do this but they do that.

Hmmm.... I've seen a guy in Palomar taking shots as well, maybe a coalition perhaps? I need to break out the tin foil hat.

Time to install a license plate-flipper?

Seems it would be nice when passing those photographers to tuck it up so they don’t see how dirty it is.

eBay.

So, correct me if I'm wrong. But what is taking a still picture going to do? A picture is not enough to prove that any traffic laws are being broken. Aside from crossing a double yellow. Is he taking video?

Not from what it seemed, he was just standing on that steep uphill part of that road. As soon as I got within a few feet of him he just too a shot..or few. I saw his truck from afar and just drove like I'm on a moped like you said what is that going to prove? Maybe a portfolio for his sexy time...
