I did a thing!

I may have a problem! Added to the stable.

I LOVE LOVE my FZ10, but it's not ideal for commuting or long trips, so I Picked up one of the new Tracer 900 GT's (FJ09 replacement) yesterday. Didn't really plan to actually buy one, just went down to check it out and ended up riding it home! Keeping the fZ of course
My first impressions so far, the bad first.
Anyone over, I'd say 5'10", the stock windscreen is absolutely worthless. I'm 6'1" and the dirty air off the top of the windscreen hits you right in the middle of the helmet pushing your head around and the noise from that wind is horrible, standing up on the bike in the clean air, I.E. no screen, is better than having that windscreen. Definitely need to replace it with a taller one. I'd honestly rather ride my FZ on the highway with NO windscreen than this bike in current form.

The gear whine in 3rd and 6th is pretty loud and annoying under 60+mph, hopefully it quiets down after break-in? (FJ owners?)

Your boots will contact the rear foot peg brackets. I wear size 12 but it didn't seem to bother me or get in the way much.

The good, it's great bike with great features. Comes with heated grips, quick shifter, ABS/TC, cruise control, and the cases. It's comfortable and easy to ride. I'm coming from nothing but liter bikes for the last 10+ years so my perception is a little skewed but, the power is decent and adequate not mind blowing. I am however still in the break-in phase.

The cases work well, come off very easy and can carry them easily as well.

I love the dash and display, customizable, looks real nice day or night. The bars appear to be the exact same as the FZ.

I took it for a ride today to Palomar and back down through Romona, I had to keep reminding myself that this is not the FZ and to take corners a little slower than usual. Still a nice handling bike for what it is.
Overall I'm not in love with the bike yet, but it should do the job I bought it for very well. As soon as I replace that screen that is

Speaking of.... less than a mile from Don Tomas is Corona del Valle.

We tasted six wines there Friday. Five were fabulous, and one was only "very good".

That's a very beautiful bike. I'm surprised that windscreen isn't working well, it's massive.

Awesome bike! Love the colors! I would have bought that instead of the Triumph but it (FJ-09) didn't have cruise control when I was in the market. I do admit, I love the shaft-drive-single-sided-swingarm on the Triumph.

I'm going to call it now that you'll start riding the new bike more and the FZ less, especially since you still have the R1 track machine. Something about being able to do countless miles, still be able to tear up the mountains, AND haul whatever you want is hard to beat. Not to mention, people expect you to be fast on the FZ, they'll be blown away when you're fast on the Tracer!

Oh, and you still have 2 bikes less than me

Yeah all the things I didn't like about the FJ have been addressed, much better bike now IMO.
The FZ is way too fun, I'll be using the GT for commuting and long rides but I'll still be taking the FZ out for fun/spirited rides mostly!

Mexican wine smuggler posse!
