Show off your helmets

I thought we could get a helmet thread going on

I only have 3 helmets right now. The one i use the most is the bell star black beauty. The middle one is a scorpion exo700 and the one on the right is a HJC IS-Max w/bluetooth.

I really recommend the bell star helmet. Very comfortable and you can use a photochromatic shield that turns dark during the day and clear at night.

Right now I'm thinking about buying the hjc rps10 next. I really like the monster version. I just can't picture myself wearing it that much since I'm used to the shield on the bell helmet. Decision decisions...

the nearly identical Rpha10s are supposed to have marginal improvements n have more options for paint. have you looked into those?

My understanding is that there was some fussiness with the chin vent mechanism (something like the vent's openings were too large so if/when bugs get in there it's hard to clean) and so with the rpha10 they changed the design of the chin vents.

I THINK that's about it for the differences.
revzilla made a video review for the differences on their rpha10 page.

look at the chin vents:
RPHA 10

RPS 10

edit: after looking @ the pictures, i think the complaints were that the vents were aimed too far forward so while this biases good air flow it allows too many bugs to get in there (n it looks like a giant pain to clean lol)

Youre right, i just saw the video reviews. The rpha10 you posted will be my next helmet, unless i change my mind from here then lol

The only drawback is there is no photochromatic shield like the Bell.

Yea before the STG sale ever happened I was considering the star vs. the rpha10.

The two things I didn't like about the RPHA10 were that it didn't have any of paint schemes that I really liked (not the biggest Spies fan) and that they don't offer that technology on their shields.

Bell must have a pretty exclusive contract with SolFx for that shield because I haven't seen/heard anything about anyone else (talking about the big names here like Arai/Shoei/Schuberth/Suomy etc) trying to make their own. Albeit Akuma does make their own version but it performs noticeably worse. It obviously makes much more sense to sign a contract with a manufacturer who specializes in these photochromatic shields than to put in the money, time and r&d to develop their own.

I installed a "floating shelf" this January above my office door to hold helmets. It got them out of the way. Thanks, Home Depot!

My helmets aren't high-investment. Just HJC and a Joe Rocket (made by HJC).

Each one has a clamp for a SENA-SMH10.
