Kabuto Kamui helmet sz S

Item(s) For Sale (please include size):
Kabuto Kamui helmet sz S

Asking Price:

Is the item new or used?

Kabuto Kamui helmet, size Small. Kabuto is a japanese helmet maker, not as famous as Shoei or Arai but still very good. They used to be marketed here in the US under the name OGK. I was very impressed by the premium features of this helmet, it has a drop down sunshade, an anti fog insert, and a quick release buckle strap.

I bought this in 2016 when I briefly had a street bike; probably used it on about 15 rides and a hundred miles or so, so the helmet is not beat or used up (be careful about buying used helmets!). Would be a great helmet if you have a passenger that rides infrequently. Size small, fit is very similar to Shoei and Arai small size.

Used Lids the Best Option

Used helmets are the only way to go. They are much more comfortable, right out of the box. The more used, the more comfortable. It takes a lot of sweat to break in a new lid.

My goto lid is a well worn Icon Alliance. For the first couple of years that I owned it, you could smell it from a distance in still air.

Since I first got in the lid, the other guy's "helmet stink" has mostly gone away because helmets are self cleaning. Over time, sweat travels out the vents and pores at the back of a helmet and the base of the padding, respectively.

It's so much better to get in a helmet with this kind of previous wear for a long ride on a hot summer day. The natural smell and feel are only possible because another guy put several thousand hours of sweat into it.
