Is it still titled in California?

If not, a California buyer will not be able to register it until 7500 miles.

Oh really? Didn't know that. I saw that before but i thought that since it was originally a cali bike, it would be ok. Men, thats a bummer. Thanks for letting me know.

Yeah I would at least check if I was interested, there could be some exception since it was first titled here and then moved out of state. It's a beautiful bike.

Hopefully another zx6r

5 oil changes in less than 1000 miles? That's likely the reason why you can't afford to keep it.

Kidding aside, good Luck with the sale.

I wouldn't go as far as not being able to afford it (I did pay cash for all my bikes including this one). Luckily, finally, my adult brain kicked in and realized I don't even ride enough to justify having a depreciating 12k item sitting in the garage. If I had a cheaper bike from the getgo (like an older zx6r) and I probably wouldn't feel so bad

Kidding aside, thanks for the bump. And you're right, those oil changes from ducati can be a bit expensive, but it's cheap if you do things on your own.

Just did some searching online and it looks like there will be no issues re-registering this in CALI.

The 7,500 mile rule is ONLY for vehicles that don't meet the California emissions requirements. Since the original owner purchased this bike in California, this is considered a cali bike. Weird rule that they have this for motorcycles, since you guys don't do smog checks on motorcycles anyway right?

Anyways, as soon as they plug the vin#, they'll be able to see that this was once registered in Cali. There are also emission stickers on the bike indicating it meets California requirements (in case they need to see it).

Here's a post on reddit about the same exact issue and he metnioned he was able to register his bike no problem:
"Not super hard. I lucked out in that the bike I bought in Florida had California emissions, just had to pay the taxes and get a VIN/Mileage/Title inspection at the DMV."
From: https://www.reddit.com/r/motorcycles...in_california/

And here's the DMV link for additional info:
