Time to move your bikes to a self-storage unit nearby?

Not the most convenient thing in the world.

When we lived in Fallbrook, I kept a hangar at the airport for my "garage". It was a good arrangement, just not convenient. No one ever messed with my stuff.

Anybody in your complex have a garage you could rent? I live a long ways away but have a garage if you want to put them up for a while without worrying.

WTF ! That's the second time, and fairly recent. I would start doing some crazy like booby traps, stake outs, bait, and the like. Surprised a little about those F---ers ignoring the Duc. Not so much about the CBR because the more custom a bike is, the harder (and riskier) it is for thieves to sell it, and worth less to them to. It sounds like they might be back in the future so if it was my bike I would at least invest in a "Lowjack" or "Guidepoint" system plus an alarm. And do you guys cover the bikes? You should if not, and lock the cover on it to, and around the frame, anything to slow them down, they really hate that.

Ok well that's fine but it's just been done soooo much.
But on second thought, if you customize the she it out of it then it might not get stolen.

Offer stands here as well, I'm not very close to you but there is secured storage at my house in the 909 if you'd like.

This means whoever stole it knew I was selling the bike. At least they were kind enough to leave the other two... I have been panicked all day wondering how to protect the remaining bikes. The first time this happened we were scheduled to ride at Fontana, but being one bike short that didn't happen and no refund from the track organization. This weekend is suppose to be streets of willow and I'd hate to see a repeat of last year.

I have full coverage and gap so my loan is clear, but realistically until we move I doubt I will ever feel at ease. Thank you all for your kind words and support. If you see my BMW send me a PM.
For peace of mind, garage or self storage unit. Way too many people getting their bikes stolen or vandalized under carports even with layers of security.

My brother had his bike vandalized when the thieves couldn't take it. It had a heavy chain with big locks locking both front and rear wheels to a pole, bag cover, xena disc locks to the front and rear, and was blocked by his car.

But, you did the best thing by having full coverage and gap insurance. Still sucks to have some take something that doesn't belong to them

Holy cow, someone is your number. I wonder if it was the same person both times. Sounds like your area is a target for bike thieves.

That sucks

Look into ABUS Lock and Chain, its way heavy duty with the lock shackle being shielded and 4' of 3/8" chain weighing 20lbs.
