S1K attempted theft today in Riverside

I was at the Carl's Jr off Washington today by the 215, 2 cars and a van. 5 guys total they parked on both sides of the bike and the van was used to block the view from inside. Little did they know my perimeter sensor would make them sketchy just long enough for me to walk straight up in the middle of them as I called the cops. They all panicked and ran but beware in riverside they were after a green kawi 300 right after they left my bike. I set and stared at them after I pulled up and they bounced in all different directions. I smoked a half a pack of cigarettes trying to relax after it was all over. Luckily I didn't have my girl on me or that would have gotten ugly.

It's a scorpion I800 with separate perimitor sensor that will set the alarm off if you get with a certain proximity. It detects mass and will beep to let you know to back away, if you don't vacate the area it will trigger a full blown alarm.

Ridescorpio.com is the link to get it, I bought the i800 but the i900 is kind of a pager system to your fob. The perimitor sensor is sold separately for like 40$ and buy the bike specific connection kit. Hope this helps

I think a great TV show could be made from baiting motorcycle thieves with new R6s. Just stake out the bike with a camera crew and voila!

S1KTim,

Good info and thread here. Never really put too much thought into any bike that I rode, or my GSXR being stolen. When I purchase my next bike, I will probably put an alarm on it (maybe the one you have, just have to look into different ones) because I have always been paranoid regarding my classic cars or new vehicles. Any used vehicles I have had were just that, used, modern vehicles...not much heart into them.

Probably the best $150 you've ever spent, getting that alarm system. I always felt safe just using the steering lock, but that wouldn't have done anything in a jam like that. Scary stuff.
