Key worn out

Anyone have their key wear out around ~3 year mark? It works fine in the trunk and gas tank but not in the ignition. Spare key works instantly. I donít know if I have a chip but I donít think I do. Curious if anyone else had this happen.

I'm not 100% sure but I thought I read a while back that Honda's don't have a chip for their keys. The HISS system only comes on EU bikes not US... Which I wouldn't understand why... We have thieves here as well lol.

Can you turn the key between Lock, Off, and On?

Very strange. A lock or ignition will wear before the key does.

However - ignitions are very sensitive to bent keys, and it is very easy to bend a key, even if it doesn't look like it.

Go get another copy made of the spare and pitch the first key, is my advice.

No help here but I had a car key that was so worn that I could pull it out of the ignition while running. Still worked though.
