Chuckwalla video

Wow, what a track. I had a blast and can't wait to go back. This is in the CW direction.

Classic target fixation at ~4:32. I need to be more aggressive.

James, running off the track like that is one of the best experiences you can have in your first few track days. Seriously.

You ran wide and into the dirt, but kept your cool and rode it out. You checked that the track was clear, then resumed your lap as if nothing had ever happened. That is absolutely the textbook perfect response. Well done.

And yes, you needed to get away from the guy on the Suzuki. He is a hazard.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a lot to learn and practice but enjoyed the experience. Right now it's slow and low, that is the tempo... :-)

Cool video! I just jumped into this random post. I haven't logged in in a while, been (and still am) on a deployment so not much time to browse forums, but everytime I see "Chuckwalla" I look, since its my first track. Ive done 19 trackdays now here overseas but Chuckwalla remains my most memorable. Get Harry's laptimer! It helps, and you can after a while invest into an external GPS for it/your phone.

EDIT: just noticed the cracks on the track. I don't remember it being that bad back in 2015?

Well, they are pay per session here, as well as much closer to me than San Diego to chuckwalla was back in 2015. I can show up, do one session, crash, break a part, or whatever and only lose out on that session. Back in San Diego if anything happened you lost your entire track day money. I was doing 2-3 per month whenever we were not deployed between 2017-2018. 19 adds up fairly quick.
