GSXR FI light
bike has been sitting for about 29 days since my last ride, have not been riding much these days. Today got on the bike and turned it on and it threw a flashing FI and a solid red light. Checked oil level etc. all good and it cranks fine. Battery seems to be ok since it cranked right away. Any ideas what could be up? Bike is a 2008 GSXR600.
There is a separate oil indicator on the LCD itself that isn't showing so I don't think the FI is oil related. Any GSXR owners can shed light on how to get the actual code without going to the dealership? Edit - vid - |

For my 2001, Suzuki makes a tool, (loose use of term) that’s really a plug-in switch that shorts two wires together to put it “Dealer mode”.
It’s very well documented on the web and with a simple two-inch piece of wire you can do this yourself. Google it for your model. I installed a small spst switch to cause the same on my bike. |

finally pulled the code, it's a C46.. Exhaust Control Valve. Bike has an M4 slipon but I had installed that almost 5 years ago with zero issues so... There is also some weird crackling noise which I am guessing is related, perhaps the actuator motor for the exhaust valve is slipping?

How about just lube the cables and exercise the actuator?

thanks, going to check that out.. took it out for a ride and nothing seems off, throttle feels crisper actually. Hope it's safe to ride with the ECV not functional.. from what I understand it only affects torque at the low end but otherwise not detrimental to anything.
