Express Lanes/FastTrack/Toll Roads

After some googling I'm still a bit confused. Do I need to add my motorcycle to my FastTrack account on roads like the 91 or do I need a separate FastTrack account to use the express lanes/FastTrack with a motorcycle?

On the 110 it explicitly states motorcycles are recognized in the camera system and are not charged nor need a FastTrack transponder, but it seems a bit confusing for some of the other toll roads or express lanes.

Can anyone help me get some clarity as I'm now utilizing some of the express/toll roads south of LA. Thanks!

The little that I know. In Orange Co. and the Inland empire you need a transponder on you or your bike.

I'm less sure of this... if you then let the different agencies know your bike there are times the charges go down. I think on the 91 rush hour you get charged every time and some off hours there is no charge though I have no confirmation of the second part.

I am led to believe that on other toll roads in Orange Co. it you register your bike there are no charges.

What I know for sure if you ride a VFR and have a fender eliminator and stay to the very far left at the cameras you are invisible and ride free and don't need no freaking transponder.

I guess I was no help other than you need a transponder outside of LA.

We have a toll road in Chula Vista, the 125. I added my license plate to the account and do not use a transponder on the motorcycle. They just charge to the bike based on the license plate. Hope this helps.

Hey, Siri! Search Google for “License plate flipper motorcycle”.

Is that because I'd have to pull over, put the big Triumph in neutral, cycle through the menu and turn traction control off? Or have you seen one of my terrible wheelies?

here you go my dude:
I drive a motorcycle, do I have to pay a toll? Can I use FasTrak?
Motorcycles pay the same toll as a two-axle vehicle on The Toll Roads. Motorcyclists can use FasTrak, an ExpressAccount and One-Time-Toll to pay. Be sure to keep the transponder in a secure location, such as in a pocket or bag.
