Installed heated grips - SOCALSPORTBIKES.ORG

The wife and I bought out in Rosamond near Willow Springs, and with that comes cold commuting days in the winter. So I finally broke when and installed some symtec heat demon bar heaters and a relay so my doesn't forget to turn them off and kill my bike. Didn't come with a rocker switch housing so I had to get creative, and I'd been wanting to get my triple over to the Kevlar for a while now. Really happy with the way it turned out aside from the heat going into the clutch side bar

Have it installed on my gixxer 750 for years now and still love it.

Using medical/nitrile gloves at liners underneath your gloves also add a layer of protection from the cold.

I've done everything short of this so far, buying liners, klim wind breakers and larger winter gloves to fit them, finally broke down and did this. I have to leave for work at 2:40 AM where we moved and I expect it to routinely get cold in the winter. Don't want to install bark busters or anything that takes away from the bike aesthetics shallow as that sounds

I am loving the Oxford heated grips for the thing the $20 ones don't do.
Auto off when voltage drops below 11 volts for a few seconds, auto off when key turns off, and 5 different heat settings.
Running mine for 3 years now when bought used. So worth $50 to $80.

I looked at those, but I wanted to run some good grips. With the relay, they're off when keys off, and voltage on high didn't dip below 14.3, at least the 5 minutes I checked it on high at idle. The Oxford's are probably better for clutch side heating than the heat demon warmers are

Buy some thermal wrap and two pairs of grips. Wrap the left bar, and use the right-side grip from your second pair of grips.

That's a good idea. I just used the shrink-wrap that came with it and get a decent amount of heat loss

I was looking for some solutions for keeping my fingers moving in the cold! Do these heated grips, both Demon Grips and the mentioned Oxford grips, have different size grips? I am interested in installing on both my sportster and scrambler. Totally different size grips but I guess I could just run these during the winter then take them off in the summer? Any insight on this?

Sorry for the incredibly late reply, they have 1" and 7/8", and for harleys I think they have an actual grip
