2014 R1 Tweaks

Some of you know a little of the back story of how I acquired my 2014 R1. Short version, I totaled my 2014 R6 about six months after getting it new, then found a good deal on a new 2014 R1 while getting the crash estimate in January this year so I grabbed it. I had intentions of doing a lot of this work to the R6, instead it's now being done to the R1. This list is copied from a Polish R6/R1 forum I'm on so the dates are dd.mm.yy (I keep the info up to date on that forum since I can edit my posts whenever).

Current list of what I've done:

Currently have a set of Woodcraft frame sliders and a Custom LED tail light on order. I'm mostly after the brightness adjustment of the running and brake lights (more contrast) and the initial strobe when the brakes are applied, as well as the blacked out circuit board giving it a smoked appearance while having a clear lens. I have no intentions of hooking up the integrated turn signals, just not into them.

Next Friday I'll order up the Woodcraft front axle sliders. That will probably be the last of the changes till I get back from Europe in December... Unless I find a good deal on a Cordona quick shifter or Zeitronix ZT-2 data logger before I leave in October.

It continues:

Custom LED Blaster-X taillight 26.09.15
Custom LED Blaster-X control switch 26.09.15
Woodcraft frame slider pucks (short) 26.09.15
Woodcraft frame slider mounts 26.09.15
Woodcraft front axle sliders 29.09.15
Osram Super Bright 65w headlight bulbs 02.10.15
RAM X-Mount 25.10.15
Verizon lightning cable 25.10.15

I have the parts on order to fix the grabby/lurching clutch issue as well as some stronger springs. Planning to run three of the stronger springs and three stock springs, don't want the lever to be too stiff.

When I get the bike back from the shop I'm going to flash the ECU with a new image I've been working on. Hoping it helps with cold starting (like 40 or less cold starting).

After Christmas I'll order the quick shifter and data logger setup. Looking forward to those two items.

Installed the clutch parts last night, totally different feeling clutch. Nice and smooth as I let it out instead of pulsing/lurching, and engagement starts with the clutch let out about 1/2 inch instead of about 1/2 way (yes, it was adjusted properly). The lever is a little more stiff with the three Barnett HD springs, but not unbearable. Well worth the $70 for all of the parts (cheaper than buying the Graves kit and still having to buy the springs and gasket).

Hoping to have these items by June/July

Cordona Quickshifter 400
Zeitronix ZT-2 data logger with black box recorder
Case savers of some sort (GB Racing, PP Tuning, Graves or Woodcraft)
520 chain and sprockets (still figuring out which ones I like)

Got some Woodcraft case cover and Samco silicone hoses. Had an aluminum hose made to go past the header where it was burning my stock hose:
